A word from the author: Hi. Sorry about the english, I live in Manchester, but my mom is Hungarian, and I understand some mid-level hungarian, but not quite enough to make a hungarian character description. You don't have to worry, if I don't understand something mom helps me translate. In the future, to practice my Hungarian, I'll be translating this story, and also post everything in hungarian, though I doubt it will be grammatically correct, sorry about that. (Also, I didn't find any rules forbidding foreign players, and use of foreign language.)

Noel is a sympathetic boy. Despite that, his rather childish face makes him look younger than he actually is. He has a slim, rather skinny figure and a slightly tanned complexion. A few years ago, he had gotten into a habit of working out every evening before sleep, which had alongside his passion for running and athletics, slowly started to show some results. His muscles are still not fully defined, yet the outcome of his work is already noticeable on his pecs, abdomen and thighs.
When he was younger, he used to have light brown hair with a few dark blonde streaks here and there. In the past few years though, the streaks had disappeared and the color of his hair darkened to a lighter shade of hazel brown. His hair is usually just a little shorter than shoulder-length, the spikes pointing in different directions Noel can simply not control. One of the hair strands stands out by usually falling across the others in the front, as if to indicate the wild nature of his hair.
His light brown spiky hair go well with his emerald green eyes, the immense beauty and depth of which always makes an impression on the people he meets. They used to be hidden behind his silver glasses, which sat on his cute nose, but recently he had started to wear magical contact lenses, as he felt the glasses were somewhat impractical. He has neat, puffy red lips, which color can be matched by his adorable cheeks whenever he blushes.

Usually, he is seen in dark brown cargo shorts with many pockets that are filled with accessories he usually carries. Sometimes, he'd wear normal blue jeans, which he’d swap with comfy shorts whenever the weather got even a little bit nicer. Beneath them, he’s often wearing his infamous sky blue boxers that he had once jokingly named “Breezy” – because of its magical properties and the fact they’ve helped him out many times already, he always makes sure they’re washed so he can wear them.
He almost always wears a normal orange T-shirt, because of which he is often not recognized as a mage among other people. Yet, he doesn’t care about other’s opinion on suitability of his clothing; he wears things that he is comfortable in. In hot days during summer, he’s not hesitant to pull his shirt off and walk around only in his shorts, though. He also wears neat black sneakers, though he is sometimes seen barefoot as well. In winter, he likes to wear soft hoodies and a warm red or orange scarf around his neck, with a mark of Fairy Tail on it.
For more formal occasions, Noel also has a long black mage robe, which is slightly too big for him. Therefore, his arms and hands are completely hidden by the robe’s long sleeves and the clothing is actually touching the floor. The robe also has a neat hood and a few inner pockets. Aside from that, he also has a variety of tuxedo’s and formal suits that all suit him very well. Noel doesn’t really like to wear such clothes, though, preferring his usual cosy clothing.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]As already mentioned above, Noel wears contact lenses without which he doesn’t see as precisely as with them. These contacts lenses also have some magical powers, allowing him to see farther than he normally would without them, and read a book at a much faster rate than a normal human would be able to. He has silver glasses with similar powers, though he doesn’t really wear them anymore, except when he’s at home. Aside from that, he wears a silver bracelet on his right wrist, something he had had from even before he can remember. Despite not knowing where he got it from, he’s very attached to it and does never take it off.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Noel can be seen smiling around his friends pretty much all the time – those who have known him for a longer period of time would be able to tell he’s always cheerful and happy, his optimistic nature showing in everything he does. That outgoing and playful disposition makes it rather easy for him to make new friends, much like he never has a problem asking complete strangers for directions or inquiring the job givers about the mission details. Even in a battle, he’s seen grinning and conversing with the enemy, for which he’s often mistakably underestimated. He’s the kind of person that can see a good side to pretty much everything, no matter how bad it appears on the first glance. Believing that being positive is what makes life easier and helps him in achieving his dreams, Noel always addresses his problems with a wide grin and a good joke. His sense of humor is frequently shown when he hangs out with his friends, often making them burst out laughing at his comments or silly behavior, much to Buster’s annoyance. Because of that, he might seem a bit childish at times, but he doesn’t really care, as long as he’s having fun.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]While Noel is a rather optimistic person by nature, his usual happiness can often be replaced by unexplained desperation. Maybe that moody and slightly unstable part of his personality is the reason why he can sometimes take things more seriously than they were originally intended. He tends not to show this other side of his personality to other people, maintaining the facade that nothing is wrong. Nevertheless, as much as he wouldn't want to admit it, he does have problems with mood swings that he sometimes doesn’t know how to control. Ranging from sadness and sudden anger to sudden fear or apprehension, they are mostly connected to his troubled past. Despite the fact that he’s aware of that, the boy has no idea how to solve these personal problems, which often makes it rather hard for him to find his way out of it. That’s where the strength of his bonds with his owl Buster really shows, as the snowy-white creature is usually the one to calm him down and put him back on the right track, for which Noel’s really grateful.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Due to the events of his past (though he can't remember exactly what caused it), he had acquired some sort of amnesia. Being unable to remember most events from his past, some of those memories are brought back whenever a specific event happens or if one of his senses picks up on something that could remind him of his past. Nonetheless, in reality it doesn’t happen often that he’d remember something, for which he has started to doubt he’ll ever find out about what really happened to him, even though Buster had told him he’ll find out when he was ready. To make things slightly worse, his forgetfulness usually doesn’t apply only to his long forgotten memories, but instead even things that happened fairly recently, making it seem almost like the boy’s not paying attention to what’s happening around him or simply has that bad of a memory. Of course he uses that as a regular and mostly convenient excuse for whenever he causes a disaster, which he then refuses to acknowledge. Whether it’s because of his bad memory or simply because he’s a rather busy person that keeps pushing forwards, Noel’s life is also rather stressful, though he hardly ever lets that show.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Despite the fact he cannot remember many things from his past, his hatred for dark mages has always followed him. The reason for it probably hidden somewhere in his past years, Noel never really questioned it much, but instead pushed himself to get stronger and stronger so that he’d be able to erase the evil from this world. While that fueled his ambition for quite a while, it eventually got to the point where he had to choose between his love and care for his best friend Eric, and the hatred for dark mages upon finding out he was one of them. After not speaking with him for about six months, the loyalty to his friend and deep care for him finally made him ask the boy for forgiveness and make up with him, promising he’d never do anything like that ever again. Since then, his blind hatred for dark mages faded slightly, and he’s began to judge people more on what they’ve done rather than their alignment. Regardless of that, he still pursues dark mages.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]After having woken up completely alone with no memories of his past whatsoever, Noel had learned how bad it was not to have anyone that cared for him. Once he had joined the guild and began to make friends, he had never forgotten that feeling, and because of that, he had learned to appreciate the friendships he had begun to make since then. Caring deeply for each one of them and cherishing the bonds that began to sprout between them, Noel never hesitated to put his friends before himself and would even sacrifice himself for those he put his trust in. However, while he cares for all of his many friends that he had made ever since he’d joined the guild, he only really fully trusts a few of them. The connection between them being their strong friendship, love and care for each other, Noel would do anything for his owl Buster, his teammates Larkin and Alastor, his best friend Eric, his crush Natalie and his close friends Sion and Kain, even if it meant going beyond his own power.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]One of Noel’s profound personality traits is most definitely his willpower to achieve the goals he had set for himself in his life. While there isn’t that many of them, each one of these goals is rather hard to reach, to the point where it seems almost like it’s too much for a boy his age. Nonetheless, Noel never doubts he’ll achieve them, but instead believes it’s just a matter of time before he does. That sort of conviction is one of the reasons that push him until he succeeds in accomplishing them, determined not to give up no matter how hard it is or how long it may take. Because he’s often like that even when it doesn’t concern his goals, he can be quite competitive, though he believes his determination is what allows him to get better and become stronger, both in mastering his magic and other things in his life alike. He cares a lot for the ambitions he has and would do a lot to get closer to them, as they are essentially something that gives him the energy and keep him going, but if he had to choose between them and his friends, it’d always be for the latter.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Whether it’s just one of the side-effects of his amnesia, or another one of his quirks, Noel’s sincerity usually leads him to believe things easier than it would have been good for him. Due to that naivety of his, he quite regularly gets into trouble, whether it is in the guild or on a mission, or even around his friends. The reason for it was most probably his unsatisfied curiosity that led him to do stupid things like breaking into other people’s minds, until Buster had finally made him realize that bashing into others’ private spaces wasn’t the nicest thing to do and demanded of him to promise he’d never do it again without a really good reason. While he’s not doing that anymore, he still remains a rather curious young boy who’s interested in everything going around him. Recently though, he had started to direct that interest into books and other sources of knowledge, from where he had been mostly studying about magic, but also other things like history and geography of Fiore and other kingdoms of Earthland, its fauna and flora and many other things. His main passion still remains everything and anything related to magic, though.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Somehow, he acts pervy whenever he's around cute girls or young boys. Curious as he is, he was never bothered by the gender, but instead fell for their adorableness. Being unable to keep the comments about their cuteness to himself, he usually blurts out inappropriate remarks about them that usually embarrass him and people around him alike. However, he's mostly oblivious to the effect of his words, until he’s reminded of their impropriety. Therefore it's not strange for him to create immensely awkward situations, causing people surrounding him to instantly wish they were not around him. While he does know where the line is and would never dare to cross it, he still sometimes finds it hard to contain himself, as for example when he stole Natalie’s panties when no one was looking. The reason for him acting like that is probably because he’s afraid of commitment; while he believes there’s nothing wrong with having some ‘fun’ and spending time with his friends and the ones he cares about, he is horrified to think of what’d happen if he was tied only to a single person.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Noel's past is unknown to anyone but a single girl named Zoya Syrion. Even his snowy-white owl Buster doesn’t know all the details on what happened before Noel woke up with his memories completely mixed and scrambled on that day a few years ago. Noel never really talks about that day or his past in general, mainly because due to his amnesia, he's unable to remember what had really occurred on that day. Curious as he is and impatient to learn about his past, Noel has tried his best to find out what happened to him ever since, though he hasn’t had much success on that part so far. However, despite his lack of luck and the memories of the past being completely blank to him, some of them are sometimes triggered by certain events or things that remind him of his past. These triggers are his hope, and possibly the key to uncovering what truly happened. While these memories are usually just small flashbacks that never reveal the true story, but rather only give him something to wonder about, Noel doesn’t give up on trying to figure out the truth behind them.
He had never told anyone about any of this, not even to his closer friends. Buster is practically the only one who knows a few more details about what happened, though he respects Noel’s decision not to talk about it to anyone else, and thus keeps quiet. For some reason, even Noel himself doesn’t know exactly why he dislikes talking about it so much, as he doesn’t remember much anyway; but he does get an uncomfortable feeling whenever he thinks about it which makes it even more so awkward to talk about. Because of that, whenever anyone asks him about his past, he usually tries to make up something as quickly as possible. Being a bad liar, he almost never succeeds in making others believe the story he’s telling is actually true. Despite that, he usually gives an impression that he doesn’t want to speak about his past, and thus people mainly leave him alone. And he is fine with that.
Due to his amnesia, the farthest his memory can reach is to a normal day just a few years ago, not too long after he’d turned fifteen. On that day, Noel had woken up sprawled on a rock with such an immense headache that every sound meant unbearable pain. Groaning quietly, the boy lay on the uneven surface, bringing his hand up to his face and trying to rub the pain away as he slowly came about. It took minutes, if not hours until he finally dared to open his eyes, the bright sunlight forcing him to close them once again and re-open them with his hand shielding his face from the bright sun. ”W-What’s going on..?” the boy whispered quietly to himself, his eyes squinting in pain as he pushed himself up on his elbows. It wasn’t just his mind that hurt like crazy, but his entire body, though the pain in his head was the worst of all. It felt as if someone had struck his temples with an axe.
Once his eyes got accommodated to the brightness of the afternoon sun, the boy slowly began to realize where he was and what his surroundings were. Rubbing his eyes and letting out yet another moan of pain, Noel slowly widened them in surprise when noticed where he was. The rock he had been lying on top of, stuck out of a mountain, hanging two hundred or so meters above ground. His feet dangling above the gap, he saw a city beneath him, the high walls of its buildings reaching up towards the sky. ”W-What’s this..? W-Where am I..?” he muttered, every thought that ran through his head inflicting additional pain to his already sore head. Little did he know just then that the city was actually one of the biggest ones in the Kingdom of Fiore, Acacia. Strangely enough, though, his desire to remember where he had seen the place before, began to clear his obliviousness to the fact that there was something wrong with his memory. Despite that, it was still too early for him to figure out exactly what wasn’t right, as his headache was still too strong.
His teeth clenched. It wasn’t just his head that hurt like hell, but rather his entire body. His hand moved down to the upper part of his chest, brushing across something soft. Glancing downwards, his eyes stopped on a white, silky bandage wrapped tightly all around his chest that slowly heaved up and down as he breathed. The pain was coming from there, too, but he didn’t dare to remove the bandage in order to check the possible wounds hidden by it. ”Where did it come from..?” he muttered his thoughts out aloud, then quickly shut his eyes tightly as the thought alone seemed to magnify his migraine even more. When he re-opened them, to look back down at the town, he thought he noticed some movement in the corner of his eyes. Quickly turning his head and wincing in pain the process, the boy’s eyes stopped on a nearby rock sticking out of the mountain in the same manner as the one he was sitting on. Except that rock wasn’t empty, either. On top of it, sat a snowy-white owl, staring at the boy with its big, black eyes. Out of its beak hung a piece of cloth, resembling the bandages that were wrapped around Noel’s body.
The two stared at each other for a long while. Then, before Noel would be able to say or do anything, the owl took off the rock and began to fly off towards the horizon. ”Hey..! W-Wait..!” the boy yelled after its strange savior, trying to get up though he rather quickly sat back down on the rock once again, breathing heavily as the pain shot through his chest. He tried to yelp after the owl once again, but all he could do was watch as it flew off into the distance, not even looking back at the boy in pain, breathing deeply from the sudden exertion. Long after the owl had already disappeared, the boy stared off into the distance after it, wondering about what had happened and why he was there. He slept for a little while, then rested some more, until the headache had started to subside, allowing him to begin arranging his thoughts once again. And that was when he really started to notice that he wasn’t remembering practically anything that happened to him. ”How did I get here..? Who was that owl..? What happened to me..? What’s even my name..?”
These were just a few of the many questions that began to pop in the young boy’s mind, though he had at least found an answer to the last one of them rather quickly after. The first idea that popped in his mind as a solution to finding out who he was and what happened, was to check what was on him, and to see if there were any accessories he could inspect. There was a quarter-staff lying next to him, a normal wooden weapon that felt rather familiar as soon as he took it in his hands. Next to it, was a backpack, but when he put his hand inside and felt around it, there was nothing in but a clean pair of clothes, nothing that would be able to tell him more about what was going on. Finally, he noticed a silver bracelet on his right wrist, soon realizing it had a name engraved on the inner side of it, the writing that could only be seen once he’d taken it down and inspected it closely. ”Noel Aramis”, the words said, and as soon as he only as much as glanced at the name, a sudden flashback invaded his mind.
”That’s for you, Noel..” the voice in his mind said, and for a moment, it wasn’t the landscape of the Acacia’s outskirts that he saw, but instead a delicate hand handing him that silver bracelet. ”I made it just for you.. Happy twelfth birthday.” There was a flash, and in the next moment, the boy found himself staring back at the city down below him, breathing heavily as sweat rolled down his forehead. That was the first flashback Noel went through right after losing all of its memories - and that was how he remembered his name. Many more of these appeared in the next few days after he’d recovered and settled for Acacia, most of them triggered by things he saw, felt or even smelt, though some of them even haunted him in his dreams as he finally lay to rest during nights. The first few days definitely weren’t pleasant at all, especially with the few memories coming back only making his headaches worse. After a while though, they became less common, if not even rare. The most important memories that told him who he was and what he knew about the world came back, while the ones about his past and the answers of what had happened, didn’t.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]In search of the truth, the boy set off into the world. He didn’t stay in Acacia for too long. After seeing the horrible things its local dark guild Grimoire Heart was doing, the hatred of the evil which had always lived within him, began to arise and he took off in the direction of the west. The path was long and unkind, but he had met a few nice people on the road, which made his travelling easier. The few memories he still had, led him to the city of Magnolia in the western part of the kingdom, where he had decided to settle down for a while. Spending most of his first days in the town’s library, the boy read about the history and geography of Fiore, as if hoping to find some answers of his identity in there. He particularly enjoyed the books on magic as well, and he was almost eating those like a bookworm, hungrily learning everything there was about different branches of magics that existed. Surprisingly though, very few sources existed on his own branch, which he was the most interested in, hoping that learning more about it would help him uncover parts of his past.
Truly enough, his magic soon showed itself to be Mind Magic. When he thought about it, he felt like there was a connection between it and the fact that he had lost almost all of his memories, which fueled his desire to find more about it even more. Nonetheless, none of the books he found ever explained anything about such phenomena, mostly talking only about the basics of his magic which he already knew naturally. Maybe it was his wish to find out more about it, that finally drove him to join a guild, hoping that the more experienced mages would be able to help him with that. That wasn’t his only reason why he decided to join the Magnolia’s greatest guild, though. After having seen the bad deeds dark mages had been doing, and feeling his dislike for them burning inside him, the boy had decided he wanted to get much stronger, so that he would be able to become an S-class mage one day, fighting against and erasing all of the evil in the world. With such high hopes, which actually reached even higher for a position in the Council or as one of the Ten Wizard Saints, Noel finally decided to join Fairy Tail.
Having passed the guild multiple times on his explorations of Magnolia Town, Noel knew exactly where he needed to go. Not just that, the guild’s tall building was fairly visible from every corner of Magnolia, and the boy always seemed to get a pleasant, yet somewhat nervous feeling when he glanced at it. On that sunny day, Noel had finally found himself staring up at the glorious building looming over him as he stopped in front of it. With a girl his age, who’d also wanted to join, he went inside. Amazed by the sight that opened up in front of him when he stepped in, Noel was at a loss of words. He’d seen a few guilds on his travels, but this guild was nothing like them. The enormous hall stretching out as far as he could see, with a big stage at one end and a counter with a bar at the other, countless doors leading to various different rooms, as well as outside to the pool area.. A mission board not too far from the stairs that led up to the second floor where S-class missions were posted.. To Noel, the place looked perfect.
But it wasn’t just the place that struck him as astonishing. Behind the many tables scattered throughout the hall, guild members sat and drank their drinks, talking and joking about stuff, smiling and laughing vividly, calling out to each other and generally having so much fun. It made Noel want to join in right away, and as he saw how connected they were, like a true family, he knew that this was the guild he wanted to be in. Remembering what he came here for, he asked a nearby mage about how to join a guild. As it appeared, the older boy named Larkin, also wasn’t a member yet, and so they went to the counter where they would apply to join. After having to fill out some forms about their personal information, personality and past experiences, they were led towards one of the rooms of the guild, where they encountered one of the stronger mages of the guild. The older man was the one who tested the newcomers to see if they were fit to join the guild, and determine whether they could pass or not. Larkin had already failed the test once, so Noel wasn’t fooled to assume it was going to be easy.
The girl was the first to go, and as Noel observed her trial, he was shocked to find out that the man was a Mind mage, just like him. Except he was much more powerful than he was, and his mind reading abilities seemed so extraordinary that Noel was almost frightened. Could his power ever become strong like that? Noel was almost afraid to hope for it but deep down, he knew he could do it, if only he wished it strongly enough. Watching as the old man effortlessly read the girl’s mind and then wisely pointed out the things she still needed to work on, Noel found himself getting more and more nervous of the upcoming trial. After the second part of her exam that tested her magical powers, the man announced her passing the trial and told Noel it was his turn. Stepping forth nervously, Noel faced the older Mind mage, who read his application first in order to find the general information about him. However, before he got too far, he suddenly stopped, staring at the piece of paper in front of him quietly, as if he’d been struck by lightning.
Asking him whether something was wrong, Noel felt discouraged when the man told him he couldn’t believe he had Mind magic that was one of the Lost magics, almost angry that he’d dared to write something like that down on his application. When the man decided to test his power by putting up a test for him in which he needed to use his Mind Blast to make a soft ball repel violently from the walls of the box it was in, Noel was having quite some trouble concentrating after the shock he’d gone through. Remembering what he was here for, he took a deep breath and concentrated, casting the technique to show the man that he could really do it. Despite that, it didn’t seem like it was quite enough for him to pass just yet. Delving into the boy’s thoughts, the man proceeded with the test by reading Noel’s mind. He warned him about his lack of self-control and self-confidence, telling him that he’d need to believe in himself more if he wished to achieve something in his life. Wanting to make sure whether he was really ready to join the guild, the man gave Noel yet another challenge - trying to read Larkin’s emotions.
Staring deeply into Larkin’s eyes, Noel cast his Sixth Sense to find out the way he felt. It took him a while minute to figure out just the basics of his emotions, and after revealing them to the old mage, he would finally have to admit that Noel was indeed ready to join the guild. Apologizing for having acted rather cold to him, he explained that he’d never met another Mind mage in his long life, the chance of that ever happening being close to zero. He’d thought Noel had lied to him, which angered him, but after testing the boy, he realized he was telling the truth. Asking him where he’d learned the magic, the old mage was told by Noel that he couldn’t remember anything due to his amnesia. With that, the man broke into his mind once again, with an intention of finding that out. The feeling wasn’t exactly pleasant to Noel, and as pictures of things he’d never seen began to flash in front of his mind, he let out a scream as the burning feeling shot through his head. Breaking the link, the man stared at the boy for a long while, thinking about what he’d seen.
He didn’t want to answer Noel’s pleads to tell him what he’d learned about his past and told him he would find out when the time came. With that, Noel’s trial was finished, and he was accepted into the guild. After Noel had read his true emotions and told them out for them to hear, Larkin had realized it was his uncertainty that had led him to fail the exam in the end. Now that he knew that, he’d mustered up the courage and determination to ask the man if he could take the exam once more, and so he did. Noticing the other boy’s vigor and heartiness, the man nodded and then started with an exam, where he would test Larkin’s magic. Shrunk to a size of ten centimeters, Larkin had to fight a dinosaur plushie, and that was the time Noel first saw his magic. Amazed by his power and skill, Noel watched in awe as the Ex-equip mage took care of the plushie like it was nothing. Naturally, he’d passed the exam and with that, it appeared that all of them had managed to join the guild together.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]After being accepted, the three returned to the main guild hall where they were greeted by the rest of the members. A smile spread across Noel’s face as he glanced across the full guild-hall, and he felt the warmth envelop him. To him, joining a guild meant like getting a family he never had. He would never have to be alone anymore. With these happy thoughts in his mind, Noel joined Larkin at the counter where they were going to get their guild tattoos. He decided his to be orange, and he got it placed on the right side of his neck, where the bartender had stamped it with a magical stamp tool. When that was done, he could finally say he was truly a member of Fairy Tail. Proud that he’d become a full-fledged mage, Noel promised to himself that he’d work even harder to get stronger and better, so that he would be able to wipe all the evil from the world. It was a pretty utopic dream, but Noel didn’t care. He’d already joined a guild - and it felt so nice that he had a feeling he would be able to do just about anything.
Larkin and he started to hang out with each other quite a bit and even go on some missions together. At about the same time, during one of his explorations of the town and its surroundings, he’d met another boy while taking a walk in the nearby East Forest. Their first confrontation was a bit sheepish and almost hostile. Having been caught watching the unusual boy relaxing at the nearby lake, Noel was suddenly caught by his shadow, who had grabbed Noel by his legs and dragged him to its owner. The reason why he thought he was a bit unusual was probably his colored hair, a skull mask on his face and numerous amulets and gadgets on him. He looked a bit scary, but Noel soon found out he was actually quite friendly. The boy, whose name was Alastor, was a mage as well, with the interesting ability to call forth his shadow that actually almost seemed like another being. The two talked for a little while, realizing that they had quite a few similar interests, and after a day full of fun, Noel was almost sad when they had to depart.
Little did he know that he was going to see him once again just a few days after that. One day after going to the guild, he noticed him lying on the Fairy Tail guild’s roof. Surprised by that, he climbed up and woke him up, asking him what he was doing there. Apparently, after the two had talked about the guild Noel was in last time they met, Alastor had begun to think how it would’ve been to be in a guild. With a grin, Noel invited him to join. The two went off the roof and into the guild, where Noel told the bartender by the name Alayna, that his new friend wanted to join the guild as well. She had been the one to see his own initiation to the guild, and now she led them to the old Mind mage who was going to test Alastor as well. The exam went fairly well, and it wasn’t too long before the young Shadow Voodoo mage was part of the guild as well. Congratulating him, Noel mentioned he was always welcome to go on missions with him if he wanted to.
Not long after joining the guild, Noel had started to make some more friends. The two boys Larkin and Alastor, who both joined the guild around the time he had, he became especially fond of and the three of them soon began to hang out with each other. Naturally, he had made a great number of friends in the guild itself, especially amongst the people of his class that had just began their career as the full-fledged mages; and they spent their afternoons together, talking and laughing and jokes, as well as training and generally just having fun. Outgoing as he was, Noel even made a few friends outside his guild, getting known to the people that lived in Magnolia, especially his neighbors and the salespeople on the Main Street, where he usually bought his groceries. Everyone knew the kind, cheerful boy that was always smiling, and they’d always wave to him as he passed. His friendliness never barged with his goals and ambitions that he had set for himself and was determined to achieve. While he loved to spend time with his new friends, he devoted every bit of his free-time to study and train, hoping to strengthen his mind and body alike, so that he could get stronger.
His hard work and intense training through the first quarter of the year slowly began to pay off as he noticed his magic beginning to grow in power. The members of the guild, while unable to help him with his amnesia and the questions that arose with it, had begun to notice his potential, though. It was the Fairy Tail Alayna, who noticed Noel’s exceptional skill and suggested the ambitious boy to attempt taking one of the D-class missions, so that he could start moving up the ranks. Taking her proposal rather seriously, the boy had soon began to pick up various jobs from the mission board, completing them one after another with such ease that it seemed like he hardly had to put any effort into them. Before he knew it, he was promoted to C-class, but instead of taking a bit of a break from all the work he’d done in such a short span, the determined aspiration for his dreams urged him onwards mercilessly. The tempo of his training increased and he began to take harder missions, never forgetting the goal that he had set for himself.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Following in his footsteps, his two friends Larkin and Alastor began to get stronger rather swiftly as well, and the three of them started to take missions together. It was at the beginning of one of them that the trio got an idea of forming a team, three great friends extending their hands towards each other in order to help each other out. And so, out of the bonds of friendship, team Adamant Soul was born. The rumors in Fairy Tail started soon after the team was formed and even the higher-class mages spoke about great expectations of the brilliant team. While Noel had completed many missions with his new teammates, he had also taken a few of them on his own, one of them especially having carved into his mind not for his for its rather disgusting nature, as there was blood involved which Noel disliked above all the things, but mostly due to the encounter with a fellow Lamia Scale mage. Maybe it wouldn’t have made such an impression on him if it was just any encounter, but when he saw Natalie for the first time, Noel had been somewhat drawn to her, despite the magic she used. Naturally, the mission was a success, but it was their next meeting that he really looked forward to.
Incidentally, he had managed to make quite a lot of money, having completed such an enormous number of missions so quickly. Deciding to buy a small apartment in the town, so he was closer to the guild and didn’t have to pay the rent in the apartment he was living in at that time anymore, Noel still had a formidable chunk of money that he didn’t want to spend on things he wouldn’t need in the end. That led him to accept a decision to open up a bank account and deposit all of the extra money from the missions on it. However, as he went to the bank to prepare for all the necessary arrangements and protocols that followed such a procedure, he was shocked to find out that he already had an account opened - but it was the amount of money he had on it that almost had him get a heart attack. The total sum was so ridiculously enormous, that Noel later on calculated he could’ve spent three lifetimes living like a boss, and he still wouldn’t be able to spend all of it. In addition, he appeared to be in possession of several high-class buildings.
Had he been leaning to the darker side, he would’ve probably happily accepted the new account and spent the rest of his life leisurely enjoying all the luxuries he could possibly think of, but Noel wasn’t a person like that. Asking the bank manager whether he could revoke the account and donate all of the money on it to the charities, he was uncomfortably surprised when they told him the account was linked to him via Body Link magic and could not possibly be cancelled. With that, the boy had decided not to touch that bank account again, and he reopened a new one, for the wages he makes from the completed missions, which he then uses to get through the month. The only thing he couldn’t help not to take from his vast inheritance, was a rather nice-looking and most definitely huge manor, one of the top-class buildings in the city of Magnolia. He had decided to move there, mostly due to its convenient location not too far from the guild, as well as the Southgate park which he often took walks in, though he couldn’t help not to enjoy at least a little bit of luxury, even if he had no idea where it came from.
That very question seemed to have started to bother him ever since he moved into the building, and he knew it had to be somehow connected to the past. However, upon searching through the entire building, he had found no clues whatsoever on what had happened to him, finally giving up on that and hoping that all these weird traces were finally going to make more sense at some point In the future. It was around the time not too long after he had moved into the new house, when the next one of these clues appeared out of the blue. On a perfectly normal day, which just so happened to be the day Natalie visited Noel once again for which his day had quickly turned for the better, the two would be in for surprise once they reached Noel’s house. Sitting on the bed of his king-sized bed, was a snowy-white owl. Widening his eyes in disbelief as he instantly recognized the white animal that had saved him on that day he’d woken up on the rock, the boy couldn’t hide his shock as he began to frantically explain to Natalie about the bird and how he’d seen it before.
Surprisingly enough, the boy was interrupted when the bird suddenly spoke, introducing himself as Buster and revealing to him that he was going to be living with him from that day onwards. Like it wasn’t already a shock enough for the poor boy to find a snow owl sitting on his bed once he returned back home; he nearly fainted upon finding out that this very owl could actually talk! And what was more, it had quite independently decided to move in with him, much to his dismay. As he was soon to find out, the owl wasn’t exactly the nicest being in Earthland, though his dark, humorous remarks seemed to entertain Natalie quite a lot. Seeing it an opportunity to find some answers regarding his past and the day the owl had saved him, Noel rather quickly took this opportunity to bombard his new feathery companion by a great number of questions, though all of them were quite quickly ignored. Shortly after, the owl had made it crystal clear to the boy that he did not tolerate being asked about the past, and that he would find out about it when he was ready. Of course, stubborn as he was, Noel had to learn it the hard way, after failing to break into Buster’s mind to fetch the information out himself.
At first, the boy wasn’t particularly happy with his new animal friend fluttering around him all the time, especially with his rather harsh and mean comments annoying him most of the time. It wasn’t uncommon for the two of them to start arguing out of the blue, even if it was out on the streets or somewhere other people were able to see them. After a while though, Noel began to get used to Buster’s presence, and started to realize that the snowy-white owl wasn’t as bad as he had originally appeared. In fact, he seemed to be rather loyal to him, and he always made sure nothing bad happened to the young Mind mage, as if he was his white guardian. He insisted on going on the missions with him, especially with their difficulty having increased now that he was a C-class mage. It was around that time Noel had taken a mission to help a certain boy find his parents, believing that it was going to be a rather easy mission due to its nature. His belief had quickly proven to be false when the mission turned out to be a rather difficult version of what it was supposed to be.
Still, it had turned out to be sort of a success in the end, for which the young boy, who had requested the help, was very much grateful. While the rest of the group that had helped him out didn’t particularly strike Noel’s attention, the boy whose name was Eric, had. The two quickly became friends and started to spend formidable amount of time together, whether it was going on missions together, taking walks in the park and just talking, or hanging out at Noel’s place. Even so, Noel still found enough time to do his regular training and the number of missions in such a short period of time that the guild members were hardly able to believe it - and it wasn’t long after he was proudly able to announce he had been promoted to B-class after only being in the guild for a little more than half a year. Of course something like that didn’t stop him from beginning to take even harder missions at this point, his enthusiasm and heartiness growing as he neared his dreams. From here on, the training as well as the missions began to get even harder, and his swift progress seemingly slowed down a little bit, though that wasn’t exactly the case.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]In truth, the gap between his current power level and the next one he was striving to reach, was simply so big that Noel knew it would take a lot of training and willpower to get there. Luckily, Eric was there to support him all the time and he’d even train with the boy to help him get stronger, much like Noel also gave tips to his younger friend on certain combat situations. On top of that the two of them always seemed to find some time to spend with each other, whether it was for serious business like training, or simply just having fun. Within a short span of time, the two of them had gotten rather close and it wasn’t long before they started considering each other best friends. Glad that he had someone who he could trust and talk to about anything on his mind, Noel cared a lot for Eric, much like he knew his best friend cared for him as well. Never having had such a special relationship with anyone in his life, he appreciated and cherished it a lot, finding it to be one of the most important things in his life that essentially made him who he was.
Maybe that was one of the reasons why it became rather difficult for him to find the border between friendship and the rather unknown territory known as love. While he didn’t completely realize it on his own, he may have had some feelings for his best friend, similar to the ones he held for Natalie. All of that was happening on a more unconscious level, though Buster had been able to tell what was going on, which he often took to his advantage in order to make fun of the embarrassed boy. Under the effect of his confusion and desire to sort out his feelings and figure out what Eric thought about him, Noel decided to break into the boy’s mind at some point while he was asleep. Not surprisingly, what he had found in there was far more shocking than the information he had been looking for. In disbelief, Noel learned about Eric’s lonely and dark-filled path, sharing his sadness, solitude and pain, until he found out in shock about a murder he’d committed years ago. Not having expected anything like that, Noel slipped out of Eric’s mind, horrified by what he’d found in there.
The next morning, he acted unusually cold towards his best friend, which Eric had naturally noticed right away. Trying to find out what was wrong, the younger boy attempted to talk to Noel, though without much success. At some point, Noel had even asked him to leave, which was something he’d otherwise never do to the younger boy. Now knowing that something really bad was up, Eric left the house confused and heart-broken, leaving the guilt-soaked Noel alone with his thoughts. The shock from what he’d seen in his best friend’s mind was still very much present, and he convinced himself that he needed some time to think things through before he’d attempt to talk to him. Had it been anyone else but Eric, Noel would never have even considered talking to them, so great his hatred for murderers and dark mages was. Even when it came to Eric himself, Noel almost felt like collapsing on the floor and crying right there, asking himself why something like that had to happen to him. And so he did. He crashed on his bed and just cried and cried, until he eventually fell asleep in tears.
He woke up the next morning with a tear-stained face, his thoughts even more chaotic than they’ve been the day before. His initial belief that he was going to sort them out and eventually speak with Eric soon proved to be just an utopic dream. Days and weeks passed, and Noel still haven’t figured what to do, having been avoiding the thoughts of the day he’d found out about Eric’s dark secret ever since it happened. Eric himself hadn’t shown up either, most likely believing that he wasn’t welcome in Noel’s house anymore. In some way, Noel was glad he didn’t, as he was secretly dreading the day the two of them were going to meet once again. Slowly trying to forget about him and the day they separated, Noel reluctantly returned back to his previous lifestyle, albeit he found that to be rather hard in the beginning. It took him a while to figure out that keeping himself busy was the best way to forget about things like that. Knowing he still had a long way to go, Noel got motivated to train even more and he began to go on B-class missions, some with his teammates, while he went on the others by himself.
While that was good for improving his self-confidence which he had lacked when he had first joined the guild, he also felt more comfortable going on missions alone because he simply didn’t feel like talking to others too much. It was as if the separation from Eric had drastically affected his general disposition and turned him into a more serious individual. His care-free nature had started to withdraw to give place to sternness that had never been characteristic for the young Fairy Tail mage. The reason for it was obvious, but Noel had no time nor will to deal with that problem, as he kept convincing himself that all he needed at the moment was to complete a few more missions so that he would be able to advance to the next class. His guildmates had started to notice his incredible devotion to his goal, yet they could also see he was pushing himself too hard to the point where he was almost hurting himself. It was Alayna who pulled him to the side one day and told him not to exaggerate and take a break every now and then - she also reminded him that he was not alone in the guild and that he could always talk to her if something was up.
Excusing himself by saying everything was okay, Noel quickly grabbed a mission from the request board and left the guild, determined to complete the mission alone. But once he’d gotten home, he began to think about Alayna’s advice, and he decided to take a little break, if only just for a day. Little did he know that a decision like that would cause him to meet a lonely puppy boy, one that would brighten up his mood considerably. Setting off for Fuchsia Fields, Noel already felt a bit more at ease after stopping to think about his best friend and worry about the missions and the training he wanted to go through with. Believing that he would be able to enjoy himself in the solitude of nature, he was pleasantly surprised to run into another boy that had been relaxing himself in the flowery meadows of the Fields. The two started to talk, the boy with puppy ears and tail introducing himself as Kain, and they hit it right off the bat. Forgetting about his problems momentarily, Noel had once again found his initial cheerfulness. Excited about the new acquaintance, he invited Kain to go on a B-class mission with him.
Who would have thought missions could be this fun, Noel realized after he and Kain had taken one in which they were supposed to capture a grown-up tiger which Noel had embellishly called ‘kitty’. They finished it without a problem, and once they were done, Noel had invited his new friend over to his house. Taking up on the offer, Kain visited him in Magnolia, surprised by the enormousness of the property in which Noel lived. After talking for a bit, he told Noel that he himself had no place to stay at to which Noel offered him to live at his house for the time being until he found managed to save up enough money to rent an apartment. After a bit of persuading, Kain finally agreed to the other one’s idea, and so he moved in with him. Noel’s house was big enough for the puppy boy to be able to settle down in one of the many floors, and he even had his own entrance so that he wouldn’t be disturbed. Apparently, he really liked it there as he thanked Noel every time he saw him, which Noel thought was really polite and humble, and made him realize he didn’t regret having him there even a little bit.
The boy got used to living there rather quickly, and since the two now lived in the same house, they spent quite some time together as well. After a little while, when Kain had gotten used to the new city and the place he was now living at, Noel finally invited him to join Fairy Tail. Delighted by the idea, Kain joined the guild his friend was already apart of, and as shy as he’d been in the beginning when Noel had met him, the young Mind mage was now glad to see that he was slowly starting to open up more and make some new friends. Surprisingly enough, even though he already knew most of the people in Magnolia after living here for nearly a year, the same thing happened to Noel as well. Just that it wasn’t the guild in which he met another friend that was about to change his life, but rather on a mission that he had been coming back from. Driving past Oak Town on his motorcycle, he noticed a group of guards team up on two boys. From what it seemed, they were about to attack, despite them not having any means to defend themselves, and Noel definitely wasn’t going to let that happen.
Interfering swiftly, Noel took care of the guards quicker than one would have expected before turning towards the two boys and asking them if they were alright. As it appeared, they were both fine and happened to be heading towards Oak town before they got attacked. Since Noel was going in the same direction, he offered to accompany them, and so the three of them set for their destination. During their short-time travel, they talked a lot about different kinds of things, and Noel really enjoyed the conversation with them, until he suddenly got a feeling the older of the two boys, named Sion, had lied to him about the origins of his magic after he’d asked him about it. Once they reached the town, they bid each other farewell, but instead of going his own way, Noel followed Sion to the hotel, where he broke into his room and read his mind, afraid that he could be some sort of a criminal. Quite comically, his assumptions were right as Sion appeared to be a member of one of the most prominent dark guilds, Tartaros, yet the young Mind mage never realized the whole truth.
Fortunately for Sion, his split-persona confused Noel’s mind-reading abilities to the point where he believed Sion had lied because his other personality coerced him to, rather than because it was the real truth. Believing him, Noel relaxed and apologized for breaking into his mind. As the things calmed down a little bit, Sion had asked him whether it’d be possible for Noel to train him, which was an idea he got after seeing Noel’s skill in the battle against the guards. Not seeing why he couldn’t do that, Noel agreed to it and the two decided to drive back to Noel’s house in Magnolia where Noel would train the other boy. With a few complications, they managed to get back to Noel’s hometown, and they immediately began with intense and harsh training. Noel didn’t go easy on the other boy just because he wasn’t as strong as him, and once the training was done, Sion was completely spent. Still, he’d managed to pass the training with a relatively high mark, and seeing his potential, Noel invited him on a mission. While that turned out to be even harder than the training itself, the two managed to complete it without major disturbances, much to Noel’s delight.
His interest in the other boy growing, he invited him to Hosenka Spa, where the two would finally be able to relax after their extensive training and hard mission. Despite having known him for a bit now, he still hadn’t gotten a chance to really get to know him. Glad that they finally had some time to relax, Noel and Sion talked, and soon realized they had quite a bit in common. When they finally parted, Noel hadn’t forgotten to tell the other boy to contact him any time, or stop by whenever he visited Magnolia. Agreeing, Sion left and with that, Noel returned back to his hometown. Naturally, he was in for an enormous surprise when he found Eric waiting for him on his front doors. After not having seen him for almost six months, Noel had nearly forgotten about him, and yet his heart sunk almost immediately after he had set his eyes on the younger boy. It was like a long forgotten pain had awoken inside his chest once again, and Noel knew it was the time to face it. He couldn’t run away forever, could he?
Inviting the other boy into the kitchen, Noel was still relatively retained as he hesitantly offered him a seat. Even though he’d thought a lot about the possible scenarios and outcomes of their reunion once it finally happened, everything disappeared from his head as he stared at the other boy standing in the doorway, uncertain whether he was even welcome in Noel’s house. But as he watched him like that, all hurt and saddened, Noel began to realize that he had forgiven Eric for the things he’d done a long time ago. Sure he may have killed and taken lives away, which was something Noel could never ever approve of, but despite everything, he was still his best friend. He was the person he could fully trust and rely on; he was the one and only person in the whole world that he could talk about anything and everything without fear of ever being rejected by him. And truly, if he could depend on Eric like that, it was only natural for the other boy to feel the same way about him. That’s what best friends were for after all, right?
Eric may have killed, and that was something nothing would ever be able to erase from his past - but instead of shunning him for it, Noel knew he needed to support him. He was the pillar of light in the darkness that made up Eric’s life, and just like the younger boy would stand by his side no matter what happened to him, Noel knew he had to be there for him as well. That was the realization Noel came to deep down already a long while ago, and now that he saw his best friend practically heart-broken like that, he couldn’t hold it back anymore. Apologizing sincerely for the way he’d behaved towards him, Noel proceeded with the explanation for his actions, as Eric didn’t even know why Noel had been like that towards him. Thinking that Eric would be upset or offended after he told him the whole story, Noel was surprised when the younger boy calmly asked him about the rest of the things he’d seen in his mind and then concluded Noel’s story by telling him all he ever wanted was for them to be friends. Touched by his words, Noel was hardly able to hold his tears of joy, as he realized everything was finally going to be as it was before.
Unable to help it, he leaned forwards and pulled Eric into a tight hug, not releasing him for a long while. It was the feeling the two of them had longed for all these long six months, and now it finally happened. Glad that everything was okay once again, the two promised each other not to hold secrets from each other anymore. With that said, Noel asked Eric whether he would be able to enter his mind yet again to find out the rest of the hidden truths that Eric himself wasn’t even aware of. It was a risky thing to ask him something like that right off the bat, but Noel knew that finding out more about him would help the two of them understand more about Eric himself. Deep down, Noel wished he could help Eric and even though he was aware he couldn’t possibly erase what had happened to the poor boy in his past, he believed that he would at least be able to make his life easier and more carefree, not to mention as far away as possible from the darkness - if only he knew more about him.
Agreeing, Eric allowed Noel to break into the depths of his mind yet again under the condition of telling him about everything he saw inside once he got out of it. Accepting his terms, Noel assured Eric that everything was going to be alright this time, not just because he’d gotten over the shock and nothing could make him push Eric away from him once again, but also because Buster was going with him to keep an eye on Noel. And so, the young Mind mage and his snowy-white companion delved into the darkness of Eric’s mind, worried about all the things they were going to find in there, yet determined to face all of them and come out of his mind with new knowledge of the younger boy’s personality.
